I’ve been working and playing with technology since the mid-80s when I discovered a love for programming. Sharing and writing about it just seemed to come naturally and when the Internet democratized publishing and websites became relatively easy to create, I jumped on board.
My own tech focus over the years has been on databases and programming. After college, I gradually worked my way into an I.T. career and am now the author of MySQL Explained, Self-Guided SQL and other books. I previously taught programming at the college level and am Microsoft certified in database fundamentals and software development.
This site, Life Beyond Tech, is the latest evolution of a website that has been in continuous operation since March 2000. It continues to focus on real technology solutions and educational resources that prioritize the development of human abilities and thought over artificial intelligence.
